Abstract: The well-known characterizations of Schwartz space $mathcalS$ of rapidly decreasing functions is extended to the algebra $mathcal{G}_{mathcalS}$ of rapidly decreasing generalized functions and to the algebra $mathcal{G}_{\mathrm{\%}mathcalS}^{infty}$ of regular rapidly decreasing generalized functions.
