Abstract: Let $f$ be an Anosov diffeomorphism of the $n$-dimensional torus ${mathbbT}^n$ and $au$ a continuous self-mapping of ${mathbbT}^n$ commuting with $f$. We prove that $au$ is surjective if and only if the restriction of $au$ to each homoclinicity class of $f$ is injective.
