Abstract: It was shown recently by Conti, R{o}rdam and Szyma'{n}ski that there exist endomorphisms

of the Cuntz algebra

but

, and a question was raised if for such a

there must always exist a unitary

v i n m a t h c a l F_{n}

with

l a m b d a_{u} |_{m a t h c a l F_{n}} = l a m b d a_{v} |_{m a t h c a l F_{n}}

. In the present paper, we answer this question to the negative. To this end, we analyze the structure of such endomorphisms

l a m b d a_{u}

for which the relative commutant

l a m b d a_{u} (m a t h c a l F_{n})^{'} c a p m a t h c a l F_{n}

is finite dimensional.
