Abstract: Let $X$ be a locally finite preordered set, $mathcalR$ a commutative ring with identity and $I(X,mathcalR)$ the incidence algebra of $X$ over $mathcalR$. In this note we prove that each Lie derivation of $I(X,mathcalR)$ is proper, provided that $mathcalR$ is $2$-torsion free.
