Abstract: HVZ type theorem for semi-relativistic Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonian, HHH=sqrt{(potimes one -A)^2+M^2}+Votimes one +oneotimes hf,quad Mgeq 0, in quantum electrodynamics is studied. Here is a self-adjoint operator in Hilbert space , and a quantized radiation field and the free field Hamiltonian defined by the second quantization of a dispersion relation . It is emphasized that massless case, , is included. Let be the bottom of the spectrum of . Suppose that the infimum of is . Then it is shown that . In particular the existence of the ground state of can be proven.
