Abstract: Let be a division algebra such that is a Noetherian algebra, then any division subalgebra of is a {em finitely generated} division algebra. Let be a finite set of commuting derivations or automorphisms of the division algebra , then the group of common eigenvalues (i.e. {em weights}) is a {em finitely generated abelian} group. Typical examples of are the quotient division algebra of the ring of differential operators on a smooth irreducible affine variety over a field of characteristic zero, and the quotient division algebra of the universal enveloping algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra . It is proved that the algebra of differential operators is isomorphic to its opposite algebra .
