Abstract: This is an expository article, written for a special edition of the journal of the UMA (Union Matematica Argentina) commemorating the mathematician Misha Cotlar. The article gives an introduction to the n-homology groups and surveys some developments, with a particular emphasis on results pertaining to the problem of calculating n-homology groups.
