A notion of synchronization of symbolic dynamics and a class of C ^ -algebras

Abstract: We discuss a synchronization property for subshifts, that we call -synchronization. Under an irreducibility assumption we associate to a -synchronizing subshift a simple and purely infinite -algebra.
