A new result on the pointwise convergence of a kind of generalized Shannon type wavelet is proved. It is an extension of the work by \textit{A. I. Zayed} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 128, No. 12, 3629--3637 (2000; Zbl 0964.42022)].
