Abstract: Let be a large prime, be a positive integer, be an integer relatively prime to and be a polynomial which is not a complete -th power for any for which . Let be the curve defined by the equation , and take the points on to lie in the rectangle . In this paper, we study the distribution of the number of points on inside a small rectangle among residue classes modulo when we move the rectangle around in .
