Abstract: In this note, we prove that given a submanifold in a Finsler manifold , (i) the orthogonal geodesics to minimize the distance from at least in some interval, (ii) there exist tubular neighbourhoods around each point of , (iii) the distance from is smooth in some open neighbourhood of (but not necessarily in ).
