Abstract: We analyze the limit behavior as $so{1}^{-}$ of the solution to the fractional Poisson equation $(-Delta{)}^s{u}_s=f_s$, $xinOmega$ with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions $u_{s}equiv0$, $xinOmeg{a}^c$. We show that $li{m}_{so{1}^{-}}{u}_s=u$, with $-Deltau=f$, $xinOmega$ and $u=0$, $xinpartialOmega$. Our results are complemented by a discussion on the rate of convergence and on extensions to the parabolic setting.
