Abstract: Given , define the emph{volume set} of , . In , we prove that has positive Lebesgue measure if either the Hausdorff dimension of is greater than 13/5, or is a product set of the form with . We show that the same conclusion holds for of Salem subsets with , and give applications to discrete combinatorial geometry.
