Abstract: It was shown in cite{GL} that the maximal surface area of a convex set in mathbbRn with respect to a rotation invariant log-concave probability measure gamma is of order fracsqrtnsqrt[4]Var|X|sqrtmathbbE|X|, where X is a random vector in mathbbRn distributed with respect to gamma. In the present paper we discuss surface area of convex polytopes PK with K facets. We find tight bounds on the maximal surface area of PK in terms of K. We show that gamma(partialPK)lesssimfracsqrtnmathbbE|X|cdotsqrtlogKcdotlogn for all K. This bound is better then the general bound for all Kin[2,efraccsqrtVar|X|]. Moreover, for all K in that range the bound is exact up to a factor of logn: for each Kin[2,efraccsqrtVar|X|] there exists a polytope PK with at most K facets such that gamma(partialPK)gtrsimfracsqrtnmathbbE|X|sqrtlogK. %For the measures gammap with densities Cn,pe−frac|y|pp (where p>0) we obtain: gammap(partialPK)lesssimfracsqrtnmathbbEXsqrtlogK, which was obtained for the standard Gaussian measure gamma2 by F. Nazarov.
