Abstract: In this contribution we establish a dictionary between terms in two different areas in order to show that many of the topics studied are common ones - just with a different terminology. We further analyze the relations between the discrete-time and continuous-time versions of the problem, using results from both of these fields. We will also differentiate between a discretization of the continuous-time dynamical system and a discrete-time dynamical system itself.
