Abstract: We consider symmetric activated random walks on $mathbbZ$, and show that the critical density $zet{a}_c$ satisfies $csqrtlambdaleqzet{a}_c(lambda)leqCsqrtlambda$ where $lambda$ denotes the sleep rate.
