Abstract: In this paper, we study the ErdH{o}s-Falconer distance problem in five dimensions for sets of Cartesian product structures. More precisely, we show that for AsubsetmathbbFp with |A|ggpfrac1322, then Delta(A5)=mathbbFp. When |AA|sim|A|, we obtain stronger statements as follows: If |A|ggpfrac1322, then (AA)2+A2+A2+A2+A2=mathbbFp. If |A|ggpfrac47, then (AA)2+(AA)2+A2+A2+A2+A2=mathbbFp. We also prove that if p4/7ll|AA|=K|A|lep5/8, then [|A^2+A^2|gg min leftlbrace frac{p}{K^4}, frac{|A|^{8/3}}{K^{7/3}p^{2/3}} ight brace.] As a consequence, |A2+A2|ggp when |A|ggp5/8 and Ksim1, where A2=x2colonxinA.
