The quaternions and Bott periodicity are quantum Hamiltonian reductions

Abstract: We show that the Morita equivalences $mathrmCliff(4)simeqmathbbH$, $mathrmCliff(7)simeqmathrmCliff(-1)$, and $mathrmCliff(8)simeqmathbbR$ arise from quantizing the Hamiltonian reductions ${mathbbR}^{0|4}//mathrmSpin(3)$, ${mathbbR}^{0|7}//G_2$, and ${mathbbR}^{0|8}//mathrmSpin(7)$, respectively.
