Abstract: Given a group , we write for the conjugacy class of containing the element . A theorem of B. H. Neumann states that if is a group in which all conjugacy classes are finite with bounded size, then the commutator subgroup is finite. We establish the following results. Let be positive integers and a group having a -approximate subgroup . If for each , then the commutator subgroup of has finite -bounded order. If for all and , then the commutator subgroup of has finite -bounded order.
