Abstract: We study the Leibniz -algebra , whose multiplication is defined via the bracket of a Leibniz algebra as . We show that is simple if and only if is a simple Lie algebra. An analogue of Levi's theorem for Leibniz algebras in is established and it is proven that the Leibniz -kernel of for any semisimple Leibniz algebra is the -algebra .
