Abstract: In this paper we consider the following problem egin{cases} -Delta_{g}u+V(x)u=lambdaalpha(x)f(u), & mbox{in }M\ ugeq0, & mbox{in }M\ u o0, & mbox{as }d_{g}(x_{0},x) oinfty end{cases}where is a -dimensional (, non-compact Riemannian manifold with asymptotically non-negative Ricci curvature, is a real parameter, is a positive coercive potential, is a bounded function and is a suitable nonlinearity. By using variational methods we prove a characterization result for existence of solutions for our problem.
