Unifying fourth-order family of iterative methods

A new two-parameter family of fourth-order iterative methods for solving nonlinear scalar equations is developed and shown to include various known fourth-order methods as special cases. The methods require three evaluations during each iteration. Numerical tests confirm the convergence results.
