Abstract: Let and be positive integers with and integers with . Let denote the cyclic polytope of dimension with vertices . We are interested in finding the smallest integer such that if for , then is normal. One of the known results is . In the present paper a new inequality is proved. Moreover, it is shown that if with , then is not very ample.
