Abstract: We consider a singular Schr"odinger operator in written formally as where is a smooth open arc in of length with regular ends. It is shown that the th negative eigenvalue of this operator behaves in the strong-coupling limit, , asymptotically as [ E_j(eta)=-frac{eta^2}{4} +mu_j +mathcal{O}Big(dfrac{logeta}{eta}Big), ] where is the th Dirichlet eigenvalue of the operator [ -frac{d^2}{ds^2} -frac{kappa(s)^2}{4}, ] on with being the signed curvature of at the point .
