Strong traces for averaged solutions of heterogeneous ultra-parabolic transport equations

Abstract: We prove that if traceability conditions are fulfilled then a weak solution $hin{L}^{i}nfty(R^{+}imes{R}^{d}imesR)$ to {the ultra-parabolic transport equation} �egin{equation*} pa_t h + Div_x left(F(t,x,lambda)h ight)=sumlimits_{i,j=1}^kpa^2_{x_i x_j}left(b_{ij}(t,x,lambda) h ight)+pa_lambda gamma(t,x,lambda), end{equation*} is such that for every $hoin{C}_c^1(R)$, the velocity averaged quantity $in{t}_{R}h(t,x,lambda)$ $ho(lambda)dlambda$ admits the strong $L_{mloc}^1(R^d)$-limit as $to0$, i.e. there exist $h_0(x,lambda)in{L}_{mloc}^1(R^{d}imesR)$ and the set $Esubset{R}^{+}$ of full measure such that for every $hoin{C}_c^1(R)$, ${\displaystyle }$ L^1_{ m loc}(R^d)-limlimits_{t o 0, ; tin E} int_{R} h(t,x,lambda) ho(lambda)dlambda= int_{R} h_0(x,lambda) ho(lambda)dlambda. ${\displaystyle }$ As a corollary, under the traceability conditions, we prove existence of strong traces for entropy solutions to ultraparabolic equations in heterogeneous media.
