Abstract: Let Gamma be an infinite discrete subgroup of Gln(mathbbC). Then either (mathbbR,<,+,cdot,Gamma) is interdefinable with (mathbbR,<,+,cdot, lambdamathbbZ) for some lambdainmathbbR, or (mathbbR,<,+,cdot,Gamma) defines the set of integers. When Gamma is not virtually abelian, the second case holds.
