Abstract: A classical result states that every lower bounded superharmonic function on BbbR2 is constant. In this paper the following (stronger) one-circle version is proven. If fcolonBbbR2o(infty,infty] is lower semicontinuous, liminf|x|oinftyf(x)/ln|x|ge0, and, for every xinBbbR2, 1/(2pi)int02pif(x+r(x)eit)dtlef(x), where rcolonBbbR2o(0,infty) is continuous, supxinBbbR2(r(x)|x|)<infty, and infxinBbbR2(r(x)|x|)=infty, then f is constant. Moreover, it is shown that, with respect to the assumption rlec|cdot|+M on BbbRd, there is a striking difference between the restricted volume mean property for the cases d=1 and d=2.
