Abstract: Let be the orientable genus surface with punctures, where . Let
ho: pi_1(Sigma_{g,n}) o GL_m(mathbb{C}) be a representation. Suppose that for each finite covering map , the orbit of (the isomorphism class of) under the mapping class group of is finite. Then we show that has finite image. The result is motivated by the Grothendieck-Katz -curvature conjecture, and gives a reformulation of the -curvature conjecture in terms of isomonodromy.
