Semiclassical resolvent bounds for short range L ∞ potentials with singularities at the origin

Abstract: We consider, for h,E>0, resolvent estimates for the semiclassical Schr"odinger operator h2Delta+VE. The potential takes the form V=VL+VS, where VL is a long range potential which is Lipschitz with respect to the radial variable, while VS=O(|x|1(log|x|)ho) as |x|oinfty for some ho>1. Both |VL| and |VS| may behave like as |x|o0, provided . We find that, as ho0+, the resolvent bound is of the form exp(Ch2(log(h1))1+ho) for some C>0. The h-dependence of the bound improves if VS decays at a faster rate toward infinity.
