Abstract: Let be a pair consisting of a symplectic form on a finite-dimensional vector space over a field , and of a -alternating endomorphism of (i.e. for all in ). Let and be arbitrary polynomials of degree with coefficients in . We characterize, in terms of the invariant factors of , the condition that splits into for some pair of -alternating endomorphisms such that .
