Mod-\(p\) Galois representations not arising from abelian varieties
Abstract: We prove there exists a mod- Galois representation valued in with cyclotomic similitude character that does not arise from the -torsion of any -dimensional abelian variety over , assuming that and is not one of the exceptional pairs , , or . Together with known results in the case , this completes the classification of all pairs .
