Abstract: We prove that any region in a homogeneous -dimensional and locally compact separable metric space, where , cannot be irreducibly separated by a closed -dimensional subset with the following property: is acyclic in dimension and there is a point having a local base in such that the boundary of each is acyclic in dimension . The acyclicity means triviality of the corresponding v{C}ech cohomology groups. This implies all known results concerning the separation of regions in homogeneous spaces.
