Abstract: We discuss how singular can cardinals be in absence of the axiom of choice. We show that, contrasting with known negative consistency results (of Gitik and others), certain positive results are provable. Then we pose some problems.
Consistency and independence results (03E35) Axiom of choice and related propositions (03E25) Large cardinals (03E55) Axiomatics of classical set theory and its fragments (03E30)
