Abstract: Let H and K be locally compact groups and au:HoAut(K) be a continuous homomorphism and also let Gau=HltimesauK be the semi-direct product of H and K with respect to au. We define left and also right au-convolution on L1(Gau) such that L1(Gau) with respect to each of them is a Banach algebra. Also we define au-convolution as a linear combination of the left and right au-convolution. We show that the au-convolution is commutative if and only if K is abelian and also when H and K are second countable groups, the au-convolution coincides with the standard convolution of L1(Gau) if and only if H is the trivial group. We prove that there is a au-involution on L1(Gau) such that L1(Gau) with respect to the au-involution and au-convolution is a non-associative Banach *-algebra and also it is also shown that when K is abelian, the au-involution and au-convolution makes L1(Gau) into a Jordan Banach *-algebra.
