Abstract: In the present work we consider in L2(mathbbR+) the Schr"odinger operator mathrmHX,alpha=mathrmfracd2dx2+sumn=1inftyalphandelta(xxn). We investigate and complete the conditions of self-adjointness and nontriviality of deficiency indices for mathrmHX,alpha obtained in cite{karpiiKost}. We generalize the conditions found earlier in the special case dn:=xnxn1=1/n, ninmathbbN, to a wider class of sequences xnn=1infty. Namely, for xn=frac1ngammalnetan with <gamma,eta>in(1/2,1)imes(infty,+infty):cup:1imes(infty,1], the description of asymptotic behavior of the sequence alphann=1infty is obtained for mathrmHX,alpha either to be self-adjoint or to have nontrivial deficiency indices.
