Abstract: Derivation of an analytic, closed-form solution for Q-switched laser induced optoacoustic phenomenon in absorbing fluid media is presented. The solution assumes spherical symmetry as well for the forcing function, which represents heat deposition from Q-switched lasers. The Greens solution provided is a suitable kernel to generate more complex solutions arising in optoacoustics, optoacoustic spectroscopy, photoacoustic and photothermal problems.
