Abstract: Let G be a simply connected, connected completely solvable Lie group with Lie algebra mathfrakg=mathfrakp+mathfrakm. Next, let pi be an infinite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation of G obtained by inducing a character from a closed normal subgroup P=expmathfrakp of G. Additionally, we assume that G=PtimesM, M=expmathfrakm is a closed subgroup of G, dmuM is a fixed Haar measure on the solvable Lie group M and there exists a linear functional lambdainmathfrakpast such that the representation pi=pilambda=mathrmindPGleft(chilambdaight) is realized as acting in L2left(M,dmuMight). Making no assumption on the integrability of pilambda, we describe explicitly a discrete subgroup GammasubsetG and a vector mathbffinL2left(M,dmuMight) such that pilambdaleft(Gammaight)mathbff is a tight frame for L2left(M,dmuMight). We also construct compactly supported smooth functions mathbfs and discrete subsets GammasubsetG such that pilambdaleft(Gammaight)mathbfs is a frame for L2left(M,dmuMight).
