Abstract: We introduce vector-valued Eidelheit sequences and obtain a characterization that generalizes Eidelheit's classical theorem (Studia Math. 6 (1936), 139-148). As an application, we discuss criteria for non -completeness of completed tensor products.
Spaces of linear operators; topological tensor products; approximation properties (46A32) General theory of locally convex spaces (46A03) Open mapping and closed graph theorems; completeness (including (B)-, (B_r)-completeness) (46A30)
