Abstract: In this paper, we study the existence of minimizers for a class of constrained minimization problems derived from the Schr"{o}dinger-Poisson equations: -Delta u+V(x)u+(|x|^{-1}*u^2)u-|u|^frac{4}{3}u=lambda u,~~xinR^3 on the L2-spheres widetildeS(c)=uinH1(R3)|intR3V(x)u2dx<+infty,|u|22=c>0. If V(x)equiv0, then by a different method from Jeanjean and Luo [Z. Angrew. Math. Phys. 64 (2013), 937-954], we show that there is no minimizer for all c>0; If 0leqV(x)inLlocinfty(R3) and limlimits|x|ightarrow+inftyV(x)=+infty, then a minimizer exists if and only if 0<cleqc=|Q|22, where Q is the unique positive radial solution of Deltau+u=|u|frac43u, xinR3. Our results are sharp. We also extend some results to constrained minimization problems on widetildeS(c) derived from Schr"{o}dinger operators: F_mu(u)=frac{1}{2}dsint_{R^N}| abla u|^2-frac{mu}2dsint_{R^N}V(x)u^2-frac{N}{2N+4}|u|^frac{2N+4}{N} where 0leqV(x)inLlocinfty(RN) and limlimits|x|ightarrow+inftyV(x)=0. We show that if mu>mu1 for some mu1>0, then a minimizer exists for each cin(0,c).
