Abstract: The Euler's form of odd perfect numbers, if any, is n=pialphaN2, where pi is prime, (pi,N)=1 and piequivalphaequiv1pmod4. Dris conjecture states that N>pialpha. We find that N2>frac12pigamma, with gamma=maxomega(n)1,alpha; omega(n)geq9 is the number of distinct prime factors of n.
