Abstract: Let be an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space, and let () be the -algebra of bounded (respectively, compact) linear operators in . Let be a fully symmetric sequence space. If are the singular values of , let with , , be the Banach ideal of compact operators generated by . We show that the averages converge uniformly in for any positive Dunford-Schwartz operator and . Besides, if , there exists a Dunford-Schwartz operator such that the sequence does not converge uniformly. We also show that the averages converge strongly in if and only if is separable and , as sets.
