Abstract: Let mathbfP be a parabolic subgroup with Levi mathbfM of a connected reductive group defined over a locally compact non-archimedean field F. Given a certain compact open subgroup Gamma of mathbfP(F), this note proves that the Hecke algebra mathcalH(mathbfM(F)) of mathbfM(F) with respect to GammacapmathbfM(F) is a left ring of fractions of the Hecke algebra mathcalH(mathbfP(F)) of mathbfP(F) with respect to Gamma. This leads to a characterization of mathcalH(mathbfP(F))-modules that come from mathcalH(mathbfM(F))-modules.
