Abstract: Let be a regular unbranched cover of simplicial graphs without isolated vertices. Then, if is an automorphism of , the right-angled Artin-Tits group associated to , we first study whether there exists an automorphism of which is a lift of . We then prove that the group consisting of all the liftable automorphisms of is finitely generated by the set of elementary automorphisms admitting a lift. Finally, we show that the group of all the lifts of the identity is commensurable to a subgroup of the Torelli group and deduce from this the existence of a short exact sequence which is reminiscent of results from the Birman-Hilden theory for surfaces.
