Abstract: A two-point selection on a set X is a function f:[X]2oX such that f(F)inF for every Fin[X]2. It is known that every two-point selection f:[X]2oX induced a topology auf on X by using the relation: xleqy if either f(x,y)=x or x=y, for every x,yinX. We are mainly concern with the two-point selections on the real line mathbbR. In this paper, we study the sigma-algebras of Borel, each one denoted by mathcalBf(mathbbR), of the topologies auf's defined by a two-point selection f on mathbbR. We prove that the assumption mathfrakc=2<mathfrakc implies the existence of a family fu:u<2mathfrakc of two-point selections on mathbbR such that mathcalBfmu(mathbbR)eqmathcalBfu(mathbbR) for distinct mu,u<2mathfrakc. By assuming that mathfrakc=2<mathfrakc and mathfrakc is regular, we also show that there are 22mathfrakc many sigma-algebras on mathbbR that contain [mathbbR]leqomega and none of them is the sigma-algebra of Borel of auf for any two-point selection f:[mathbbR]2omathbbR. Several examples are given to illustrate some properties of these Borel sigma-algebras.
