Abstract: Let mathcalP:=mathcalPmimesn denote the quantized coordinate ring of the space of mimesn matrices, equipped with natural actions of the quantized enveloping algebras Uq(mathfrakglm) and Uq(mathfrakgln). Let mathcalL and mathcalR denote the images of Uq(mathfrakglm) and Uq(mathfrakgln) in mathrmEnd(mathcalP), respectively. We define a q-analogue of the algebra of polynomial-coefficient differential operators inside mathrmEnd(mathcalP), henceforth denoted by mathcalPD, and we prove that mathcalLcapmathcalPD and mathcalRcapmathcalPD are mutual centralizers inside mathcalPD. Using this, we establish a new First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory for Uq(mathfrakgln). We also compute explicit formulas in terms of q-determinants for generators of the intersections with mathcalPD of the images of the Cartan subalgebras of Uq(mathfrakglm) and Uq(mathfrakgln).
