Abstract: The aim of this paper is to provide several counter-examples to multifractal formalisms based on the Legendre spectrum and on the large deviation spectrum. In particular these counter-examples show that an assumption of homogeneity and/or of randomness on the signal is not sufficient to guarantee the validity of the formalisms. Finally, we provide examples of function spaces in which the formalism is generically non valid.
