Abstract: We continue to study (strong) property-(R1) in Banach spaces. As discussed in cite{DP1}, this study corresponds to a triplet (X,V,mathcalF), where X is a Banach space, V is a closed convex set, and mathcalF is a subfamily of closed, bounded subsets of X. It is observed that if X is a Lindenstrauss space then (X,BX,mathcalK(X)) has strong property-(R1), mathcalK(X) represents the compact subsets of X. This concludes that for any FinmathcalK(X), extrmCentBX(F)eqes. This extends the well-known fact that a compact subset of a Lindenstrauss space X admits a nonempty Chebyshev center in X. In this connection we extend our observation that extrmCentBX is Lipschitz continuous in mathcalK(X) if X in a Lindenstrauss space. It is observed that if P is a bi-contractive projection in ellinfty, then (ellinfty,Range(P),mathcalK(ellinfty)) exhibits the strong property-(R1). Besides, if V=span(1,1ldots,1ldots), then (ellinfty,V,mathcalK(ellinfty)) exhibits the strong property-(R1), where mathcalK(ellinfty) represents the set of all compact subsets of ellinfty. Furthermore, stability results for these properties are derived in continuous function spaces, which are then studied for locally constrained subspaces with respect to a subspace of a Banach space.
