Abstract: In this paper, we discuss the problem of the classification of polynomials p:mathbbR+2ightarrow(0,infty) for which frac1p(m,n)m,ngeq0 is joint completely monotone, where p(x,y)=b(x)+a(x)y and a,b are polynomials with roots aj,bj in (infty,0), j=1,ldots,k, respectively. Towards a solution of this problem, we show that frac1p(m,n)m,ngeq0 is a minimal joint completely monotone net provided egin{equation} label{abstract-1} b_1 leq a_1 leq b_2 leq ldots leq b_k leq a_k. ag{S} end{equation} Conversely, if frac1p(m,n)m,ngeq0 is joint completely monotone, then for a=(a1,ldots,ak) and b=(b1,ldots,bk), egin{equation} label{abstract-2} H(b) leq H(a), ~ G(b) leq G(a), ~ A(b) leq A(a), ag{N} end{equation} where H(cdot),G(cdot) and A(cdot) denote the harmonic mean, the geometric mean and the arithmetic mean, respectively. In general, the conditions eqref{abstract-1} and eqref{abstract-2}, respectively, are not necessary and sufficient for the joint complete monotonicity of frac1p(m,n)m,ngeq0. Furthermore, if p(x,y)=a+bx+cy+dxy with a>0 and b,c,dgeq0, then eqn mbox{frac1p(m,n)m,ngeq0 is joint completely monotone Longleftrightarrow adbcleq0.} eeqn If adbcleq0, then we describe the representing measure mup in question explicitly. If, in addition, deq0, then mup can be expressed in terms of the modified Bessel function I0 of the first kind of order 0. We also present a complete solution to the Cauchy dual subnormality problem for toral 3-isometric weighted 2-shift (mathscrW1,mathscrW2) with 2-isometric coordinates~mathscrW1,mathscrW2.
