Extriangulated ideal quotients and Gabriel-Zisman localizations

Abstract: Let $(mathcalB,mathbbE,mathfraks)$ be an extriangulated category with enough projectives and enough injectives, and $mathcalS$ be an extension closed subcategory of $mathcalB$. In this article, we prove that the Gabriel-Zisman localization $mathcalB/mathcalS$ can be realized as an ideal quotient inside $mathcalB$ when $mathcalS$ satisfies some mild conditions. We also show that the equivalence between the ideal quotient and the localization is not just additive.
