Abstract: This work studies the local well-posedness of the initial-value problem for the nonlinear sixth-order Boussinesq equation $$, where $$. We prove local well-posedness with initial data in non-homogeneous Sobolev spaces $H^s(R)$ for negative indices of $sinR$.
